20''x16'' oil   people on bournemouth beach enjoying the waves , UK         © MARTIN DAVEY 2011 This is based on a photograph I took from Boscombe Pier, Dorset, UK. With these beach paintings I often take a number of pictures with the intention of combining then in photoshop to create a single, pleasing composition, from which I use to make a final painting. In this painting the sea takes prominance and it was fun to show the waves and the subtle changes in hue as the sand starts to change the colour of the water. Some of the these people seen here on the beach enjoying themselves appear in other paintings, such as here and here.
